A place to slow down,
breathe, come back to yourself
Wellness at Mas de Louise is not a programme — it is an atmosphere. The Ardèche air, the silence between the vines, the warm water of the pool beneath the southern sun. Here, the body understands before the mind that it can let go.
The Pool
Outdoor & heated
10 × 4 m · Heated water · Views over the vines · South-facing
The pool at the Mas stretches out in the open air, south-facing, with a direct view over the vines and the Ardèche lands. The water is kept at temperature — welcoming even on cooler mornings. Large enough to swim, warm enough for evenings, and entirely private for your group.
« Perfectly warm water, under the Ardèche sky. »
The Hammocks
Beneath the olive trees
Shaded corners · Century-old olive trees · Silence · Views over the land
Hung in the shade of century-old olive trees, the hammocks at the Mas invite a proper afternoon nap — the kind you wake from without knowing what time it is. Wind in the leaves, filtered warmth, the silence of the Ardèche countryside.
The Terraces
From dawn to dusk
Sun loungers · Shade · Open views · Stone and timber
Around the pool and along the façades of the Mas, several terraces of different characters — exposed or shaded, timber or stone — to find the one that suits the hour and the mood. Each has its own light, its own silence, its own moment in the day.
The Sauna
Heat & silence
Solid timber · Pool access · Private space
A solid timber sauna with direct access from the pool. For fresh mornings, quiet recovery and evenings when all you need is warmth and calm.
Starlit Nights
Near-zero light pollution
Protected sky · Milky Way visible · Absolute silence
The night in rural Ardèche is an experience in its own right. Far from any urban centre, the sky above the Mas reveals the Milky Way to the naked eye from nightfall. A sight many of our guests had never seen before.
« Some of our guests stay outside until two in the morning. »
What the Mas
does to body and mind
Not a spa, not a scheduled programme. Simply a place where the conditions are right for rest to arrive on its own.
Heated, south-facing,
overlooking the vines
An outdoor pool, south-facing, with a direct view over the Ardèche land and vines. A few steps from the main terrace, it becomes the heart of the day from the first warm days of the year.
Large enough to swim, warm enough for evenings, and private enough to feel truly yours. Full private hire of the Mas guarantees it will never be shared with another group.
Highland air,
volcanic and pure
The Mas sits in the Ardèche highlands, in an air recognised for its purity and natural dryness. No coastal humidity, no lowland pollution — just the wind off the Coiron plateau, the scent of garrigue and the southern light.
It is something guests notice within the first few hours: sleep is better here. Deeper nights, calmer mornings. The altitude does its work without being asked.
The Milky Way
with the naked eye
More than forty minutes from the nearest city, the Mas benefits from near-zero light pollution. On a clear night, the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye. An experience many of our guests had never had before — and one that some consider the highlight of their stay.
The nocturnal silence matches it: no road noise, no immediate neighbours. Just the crickets, the wind in the vines, and 7,000 m² of land standing between you and the rest of the world.
No programme,
just time
The Mas imposes no rhythm. No fixed check-in time, no breakfast at precisely 8 o'clock, no obligatory activities. Louise and her team adapt to your pace — not the other way around.
This may be the most precious thing the estate offers: unstructured time, in a setting that asks for nothing. Some guests read two books in a weekend. Others do absolutely nothing — and that is exactly the right answer.
Rest
awaits you
The pool, the silence, the Ardèche highland air — all of it is yours exclusively, for the duration of your stay. No suite can be booked separately.
